Alright! So you've just gotten your first set of diffuser jewelry in from F+S (or somewhere else) and now you'd like to know how to apply your oils to it. Maybe you're even feeling like you don't know how/why it even works. Well, no worries. I'll help you out with both of those questions!
How to apply oil to your diffuser jewelry:
If you have wooden beads on your jewelry, that's where you will want to apply the oils. You don't have to worry about dropping oil on to each individual bead, just slather it on everywhere! Simply hold the oil above the bracelet, let the oil naturally drop out, and then rub it in with your fingers.
If you have lava stones on your bracelets, you'll essentially want to do the same as above. The other way to apply oil is to add it directly to your fingers and then rub it on to the lava stones or wood. You can take the bracelets off, hold them in your hand (like below) and then drop the oils on and rub them in.
What do you do with the excess oil? Rub it everywhere! Ok, maybe not everywhere, but you can rub it on your neck, behind your ears, on your forearms, on your shirt, etc. Just don't waste any of that precious plant juice. If you have a necklace or earrings with wood or lava, follow the same instructions.
Now that we've gone over the how let's chat about the why.
Why you should wear your oils:
First things first, diffuser jewelry is just cute. I've specifically made my designs to match any and every style and to compliment your non-diffuser jewelry.
When someone asks why you would want to put essential oils on jewelry, just shove your wrist in their face and tell them to take a big whiff! Then, you can kindly let them know that diffuser jewelry is a form of aromatherapy, which is a great way to reap the benefits of essential oils. Check out my other post on why aromatherapy is so important here. Most people have diffusers in every room, or even in their car, but what better way to get aromatherapy when you're on the go than with the jewelry you wear?!
Another benefit of diffuser jewelry is that the oils are actually connecting with your skin. You might think to yourself, then why not just put the oils on your skin? Well, when you put oils directly on your skin, it tends to smell nice for a few hours and then it will wear off and you'll need to re-apply. Especially if you get wet or sweat. With diffuser jewelry, the scent of an oil can last anywhere from 1-3 days. That means that you can ditch that synthetic fragranced, toxic perfume and just start wearing diffuser jewelry! By using the jewelry you can still get the benefits of applying oils to your skin, without having to actually worry about hourly re-application.
One last thing. We always, always, always recommend that you test an oil on your skin before applying it to the jewelry. If you need to dilute the oil, do this before adding it to the jewelry as well. Beware of any oils that cause photosensitivity- they can and will cause sunburn type burns if exposed to too much sunlight. If you are unsure, don't do it until you know more! We also always recommend using 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. I'll go over some oils that I trust in another post on here!
